Sports Injuries

Expert Osteopathic and Rehabilitation Treatment for Sports Injuries,  helping you recover faster and move better, in Swindon, Wiltshire

Keep enjoying your favourite sport for longer and stay healthier

There’s nothing more frustrating than being sidelined from your sport with an injury; particularly one that keeps returning again and again.

The good news is that many injuries are preventable with the right approach. Of course, sometimes even with the best prevention routine it’s possible to be injured. That’s why I am here to help.

What Are Sports Injuries?

A sports injury can arise from a one-off incident (a twist, collision or fall) or develop over time through cumulative stress on the body (overuse, poor movement patterns, inadequate recovery). Either way, these injuries can affect joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, or bones — and they don’t just impact elite athletes. Weekend warriors, gym-goers and active older adults are equally at risk.

Common culprits include:

  • Sprains and strains of ligaments, muscles or tendons.

  • Tendinopathy (persistent tendon overload) or bursitis.

  • Stress fractures (especially from repetitive impact activities).

  • Joint injuries, cartilage damage or instability resulting from sudden movement or recurring fault.

  • Biomechanical issues and movement-patterns that place undue stress through certain body regions.

Because your sporting demands, training habits and movement history are unique, each injury requires a tailored approach — and early assessment often means quicker, more reliable recovery.

Our Happy Patients

"Had a great treatment and was relieved to leave far more mobile in my lower back so I could get back to training! Nick was really knowledgeable on a range of sports and could quickly identify the likely cause, he then gave me advice on how to stretch and activate certain muscles going forward. Highly recommend!"

Lisa Thompson

"Nick is an amazing therapist with phenomenal knowledge, which he applies to all clients. He does thorough assessments to ensure he's treating the cause and looking at the whole picture. He is interested in his clients and demonstrates this throughout the session, not just when questioning about pain or injury. Nick's treatments are well balanced and his knowledge means that you get a good physical treatment, as well as advice on self care (stretches/exercises) which you don't always get from other therapists. Go to Nick with your physical fitness/health goals and he will set realistic and measurable targets which he will support you to reach.
If you want a tailored treatment from a down to earth, personable sports therapist, Nick's the therapist for you!"
